Editing

Welcome back! For our video, my group and I started editing the clips we had taken already. Andres shared his screen on FaceTime so we could all see. Andres put all the clips into iMovie. I helped him determine the order they had to be in. The group then moved on to making spaces between each shot. The layout was figured out and then the song was going to be added. It took a while to find the song at first. When my group found it, the song was inserted into the video. Andres then pointed out that we need to fade the music in and out in certain scenes. The clips we wanted to do were the ones where Santana walks and sees the missing poster. This was to emphasize that he has seen this girl before and recognized her. But he wasn't sure from where. Also, the scene where he walks out and grabs the poster. This points out that he has been thinking about that poster and it's been causing him stress. The non-diegetic sound helps with this illusion. After placing and cutting all the shot

Back in School

Hello guys, welcome back. Over spring break, my group and I decided to use this week to relax from everything going on in our lives. We still stayed in contact about the project. I also checked on my group to make sure they did their blogs. Going back to when Franchesca and Andres recorded, they got a lot done. They got all the shots needed at Andres's house. I was happy they did because they were able to start formatting the video. One thing the project was missing was a song. My group hadn't come up with a song to use yet. So all of us looked together. I went onto YouTube and looked up "mysterious feeling songs" and found some interesting options. A lot of them gave a more creepy video than a mysterious vibe. I found some after a while of researching and sent them to my group. They also had some very valid options to use. In the end, Franchesca found the best song for the video. She overlapped it with some of the clips to see if it fit and it did! I was happy we fi

Spring Break !

I’m back again! This time my group and I tried to make plans to record. This week is spring break. I’m going on vacation all week!! While I’m super excited,I’ll be out of town so I wont be able to record over the break. I was excited to be able to record with my group over break. But this is okay because the others in my group can. They decided to get together Saturday to start recording. I’m hoping they are able to get the shot where Santana is getting ready. I’m also hoping for the shots where Santana gets ready for work. Since I can’t be there, I will help them with deciding on angles over text. While they are recording, I will be on the other side doing my best to help them with whatever they need. Unfortunately, Isa can’t go either since she is also busy. This is okay though because Andres and Franchesca can. I’m hoping that after break I’ll have free time to record. I am busy a lot with after school activities and tournaments for debate. But I will figure it out with my group.

Series of Unfortunate Events

Hello guys welcome back to yet another production blog. Today was supposed to be the day for us to start recording but unfortunately, reality had other plans. My school was placed on a huge lockdown. All day we were stuck in our first-period classes waiting for updates on what might happen. Today I was supposed to stay after school with my group and walk to Wilton Drive to record a few scenes. The scene I was targeting the most was where Santana walks to and from work. While I was looking forward to recording, after-school activities for our school were canceled. Now you may ask, how does this affect where you go after school? Well, I and my whole group take the activity buses home. These buses leave at 5pm and take us home so our parents don’t have to pick us up. I live a while away from the school so getting picked up is tricky. So taking the bus is the best option. But since the activities were canceled, there were no activity buses coming. So, my group collectively decided to resc

Gathering the props!

Welcome back to another production blog! This week we planned on getting together Saturday but I found out I had a debate competition. So, my group decided on after school Monday. This is perfect for all of us because we can walk from school to Wilton Drive to record what we need to. My group talked about what props we need to bring for Monday as well. I figured Andres needs a suit for his character. Since he is playing Santana and he needs to be a lawyer, he needed a suit for his character. He needed a suit anyways for debate so he used this as an excuse to get one. While he did that, I focused on getting any other props my group needed. I needed to find a briefcase since the lawyer character carries around a briefcase. I asked my Dad if he had any briefcases for his work and he said he would look for me. I looked around my house to see if anyone had anything that could be considered a briefcase and unfortunately, I couldn't find anything. I called my mom and asked her if she had

The Start of Production

Welcome to the start of our production. My group and I started our journey to make our video. I had to pick a good time for everyone to start recording. My group and I came up with a day on the weekend to start our recording. I had to make everyone could show up for the video since we all had to be a part of the recording process. My group decided on a Saturday that was perfect for all of us. I then went to work on the basics. My first step was to find the layout of the video I wanted. This was so I could easily format the video how I wanted it. I discussed with my group our ideas on how the layout should be and we came up with a good one. I then looked for good mysterious songs to use during the scenes. I wanted to find a good upbeat song for the first scene when Santana was walking into the courtroom. Something that made it seem like it would be a good day for him. I looked through multiple options that one of my participants found. I picked out the ones I liked for each specific sce

Planning Blog: Storyboard

Welcome Back! Along with our script we also developed a storyboard for our movie! With five pages total, our first page depicts Santana walking into the courtroom, about to depose a man named Joel. Santana is being explained the case for the first time as he walks into the interrogation room by his assistant named Maria. Santana sits down in the room and begins to talk with Joel. The following page explains the events after successfully resolving the case, where Santana egocentrically flirts with women, before he is interrupted by a phone call. Santana walks away from the women and it’s Maria calling amazed that he was able to resolve this case. Santana is trying to get out of this phone call to flirt with women which he eventually does. As he tries to start flirting again, page 3 shows that Santana is yet again interrupted, but this time it’s a girl named Ellie. Ellie comes to Santana, begging him for help, explaining that she feels as though her life is in danger. Santana explains h
